How to become an FDTI member
For companies interested how to join the FDTI, the following outlines the membership process:
- Prospective members request information about the FDTI by completing the following questionnaire [
Questionnaire]. Upon the FDTI’s receipt of the completed questionnaire, a brochure and related FDTI material will be mailed to the prospective member company. Prospective member companies have found it helpful to circulate this information internally within their organization to appropriate leaders and decision makers in finance and human resources.
- A common next step is for the executive director and/or the chairperson (an individual from a member company) of the FDTI to visit with the prospective company. Finance and human resource leadership groups of the prospective company have found this meeting to be helpful. Participants take away an increased understanding of the benefits of membership, as well as insights and best practices derived from FDTI. These visitations should be arranged with Jonathan Schiff, Executive Director of the FDTI at:

- After the current members are apprised of the content of the above discussions, the current members vote informally to invite the prospective company as a guest to the next scheduled FDTI workshop. Upon a positive vote by the members, Jonathan Schiff will invite the prospective company to the next conference.
- At the conference, the prospective member presents a twenty minute introduction of their company to the FDTI. [
Guest Presentation Guidelines] At the end of the two-day session, the guests are asked to share with the members how they can contribute to the FDTI.
- In the member business meeting immediately following the conference, the FDTI members evaluate the prospective member company’s fit and potential contribution to the FDTI. Upon completion of the discussion, the members vote on the guest’s admittance to the FDTI.
The formal vote of the FDTI management committee must be unanimous for a member to join. The result of the vote will be communicated to the prospective member after the conference. The new member company at that point accepts all the benefits, obligations, and responsibilities as delineated in the FDTI membership agreement.
